Oakben Agricultural Company located on the Macquarie River at Dubbo NSW typically irrigates cotton, corn and mung beans using lateral move and centre pivot overhead sprinklers. 

In 2020 they installed a brushed 2mm wedgewire screen on their main pump. Farm manager Gus Thomson said their main reason for installing a fish friendly screen was “To give it a go. We all love to fish and want to do the right thing by the river”.
